MEMORIAL FOREST CLUB - TENNIS COURT POLICY

For questions about the MFC Tennis Courts or its policies, please email the Tennis Director, Karen Dixon.

1. Reservations for courts 1 and 2 at the Memorial Forest Club may be made no earlier than 2 days in advance beginning at 7:00 a.m. (Example: Monday at 7:00 a.m. for a Wednesday reservation.). The Lesson court can only be reserved for regular play one day in advance starting at 7:00 a.m.

 2. Use of the ball machine is limited to the Lesson court. Reservations on this court for this purpose can be made two days in advance.

 3. Courts are available for use 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Court lights automatically turn off between 10-11 p.m. If the lights are on, the last member leaving the courts should turn them off.

 4. Reservations will be made on the honor system on the reservation form posted on the tennis bulletin board. If you find you will be unable to play, please erase your reservation in order to free up the court for other members.

 5. Reservations are to be made only by MFC members with the member’s last name. Guests of members must be accompanied by a member when using the court.

 6. Family members may reserve a court for a maximum of one and one-half (1 ½) hours per day and a total of six (6) hours per week.  The limit includes all time reserved for regular play or for reserved private lessons but not for league play or group clinics. If additional time on the court is desired, it should be as a standby when courts are not in use or reserved.

 7. The Tennis Director reserves the right to all the courts during tournaments, team practices, and team matches.

 8. When all courts are reserved, members who do not arrive to play at their court within 10 minutes of the beginning of the reserved time will forfeit use of the court to any member on standby waiting to use the next available court.

 9. Members are required to vacate courts immediately at the end of the reserved time if other members are waiting to begin play for their reservation time.  If the waiting members agree, a game in progress may be completed.  This rule applies to both individuals reserving time as well as time blocked off by the Tennis Director.

 10. Basic rules of courtesy and conduct should be observed at all times. Any exceptions should be reported to the Tennis Director. The Tennis Director will require persons whose behavior is unacceptable to leave the premises.  Repeated indiscretions will be reported to the Board of Directors.

 11. Proper tennis attire, including shirts, should be worn at all times. Only soft, rubber soled shoes are permitted on the courts.  Shoes that mark the courts are not permitted.

 12. The Tennis courts are strictly to be used for tennis play and practice. Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, or similar devices are not allowed on the courts.  Pets are also not allowed on the courts at any time.

 13. All members and their guest will be responsible for leaving the courts and the patio area clean of personal items, as well as food and drinks used during their court time. Trash cans are provided on and around the courts. Please empty courtside trashcans when they are full.

 14. Members arriving at the courts to walk on vacant unreserved courts should sign up and reserve the time as they might be required to leave the courts if another member arrives and signs up for the beginning of the next half-hour slot. Signing up for the court reserves your court time.

Tennis Ball Machine
The tennis ball machine is kept in the storage shed next to the lesson court for use by members. If you need the combination or instructions for the ball machine, please contact the Tennis Director.
